Joe Kitzmiller
Joe Kitzmiller is an artist, inventor, outdoorsman, builder, husband, and father. He studied fine art at Trinity Western University in British Columbia and Marylhurst University in Portland, Oregon. If Joe had lived 200 hundred years ago he may have be an explorer but today he lives in a world that has been subdued and conquered. So instead, he finds a new frontier each time he creates. Adventure and discovery drive his soul, and the world of art is like an undiscovered frontier. It is a world that provides adventure and a new discovery at each departure from home.
Art allows Joe to bring into existence something new, something previously unknown to the world, a new creation. And so he paints, exploring, discovering…creating. He says “Through my painting I have found a way to partner with the creator of this world. I have borrowed a few of his tools left on the table. I use physics to decide some of the process for me and the result is a work of art that is truly beyond my capabilities. It is a beautiful partnership. It is a letting go of myself. It is trust.”
